Build 119 is live!
Hey guys,
Build 119 is now in production. The changes are:
- High level loot is soulbound
- Gravestones no longer contain a player's equipment
- Different loot bags depending on loot type
- Small fix to make objects/grenades thrown near walls more likely to appear
- Small fix to make partial seconds work for conditions
- Anti-Spectators now stasis immune
- Fame bonus from high level items at death
- Gold should update faster
- Drag items to the map from a soulbound loot bag to make them public
- Pentaracts should no longer end up in deep water
- Escape to Nexus works in a slightly different way internally to avoid "Character is dead" bug.
- Wine Cellar portal now only exists for 2 mins after Oryx's death
- minor fix: if you drop multiple items, they will end up in the same bag

What's the point of testing
What's the point of testing if you don't even listen to the bug reports we mention? Good thing you had 4 entire days of testing in a build that completely changes how the game functions. I'm sure you got some great data from the ghost town that was the testing server.
From now on, i recommend we boycott testing. If the devs want to sit in their ivory tower and dictate the game from on high, fine. No point in wasting our time helping them. They obviously know best.

Gravestones no longer contain a player's equipment
This is the one thing I'm not entirely liking.. The problem was peoples graves were getting looted and they didn't get "their" Items back, so the devs think by making it so no one gets it not even the owner fixes everything? I think that just made people mad because even though their were problems with a open grave to everyone some people/friends actually DID give back their items.. :/

Don't misunderstand me, the devs are perfectly free to make whatever changes they feel like. But for them to open up a testing server, ask us to be free beta testers, ask us for input, then completely ignore everything we say is just rude.
You're asking us spend time testing your game for you. You're asking us to spend our time writing up our opinions and concerns. Then you repeatedly ignore us for months on end, build after build.
If you don't want our opinions, you should leave the "Please post comments, bugs, etc. to this thread" off the end of every post. Save everyone some time.
In the meantime, boycott testing.

I dont agree with the graves not containing items, If anything you should make it to where you get to pick one item out of your grave upon death and depending on the tier you should be awarded fame at death for cashing in the items
Also, the high level sb thing is bad...its bad enough drops are at a low rate, if anything makes sb requirements for lvl 20 only

The amount of Masses at events make it tougher for ppl to even get SB damage in, Let alone get a drop. i have done 5 events. 1 DROP.... Probably not even worth the time doing them anymore just dungeon hunt.

I believe you have gone about this the wrong way.
you wanted to stop people abusing the system and using many alternative accounts.
then you should have changed the drop rate of incs or the t12/t6 items.
People only did private events because they spent 20+ defence pots on an inc because they are rare and needed to go for the attempted 22 soulbound bags for a 80% chance at a drop
Would people have spent 20 defence. for others to ruin their trip. and not even get a 5% chance at a drop.
If incs was more common say a 10% drop then Public Wc's i would agree with as then there would be a bigger abundance of incantions to use willy nilly.

If all the other builds spend 2 weeks on testing, what gave you guys the idea to push it so quickly?
The testing thread is 40% negative feedback. Worse than other builds. Why did you stick it out there if there were so many folks voting against it?
I'm not against the whole list of changes, but the SB loot tables need so much work. I'd be in favor of leaving public drops on events and dungeons just because a 50% chance of a SB VIT doesn't make up for a 99% pub and 11% SB.

What, are you implying 4 days isn't enough time to test out a completely redesigned gameplay mechanic?
Don't worry that it's a perma-death game, and that any bugs in the code may result in the loss of months of work. I'm sure it's all fine!

Another Big problem
Also this is a big problem for me and probably for many others. People who've hoarded up incs are pretty much now virtually poor in this game. In my opinion I think inc prices should stay the same at around 20-25 def.

But it didn't involve loot- you could still kill monsters and get your loot and pots at the same rate- it'd just take longer, right...?

But you're right, everything was normal back then (except for the range) like 4% pot drops. Using bows was heaven at that time too... when it got piercing that's it (after just a little while of testing, nothing immediate)

i am suggesting that in your next build that you make stat increase potions from realm gods have maybe a 5% soulbound drop rate instead of 1.5% like some gods, i think a lot of players would be happy with that

Bar too low
I was stoked for the changes brought up a few weeks ago. Now that they are in place my concern of too low a bar for sb items has been realized. I mean come on, Mith Chain does not need to be sb. Also I see you failed to implement the higher drop rates mentioned. I feel let down by the changes promised/suggested and the ones actually put in place.

@Kable: I agree with you on the range nerf. You had your HorseThors and what not completely freaking out, but once people got used to it, it's been fine. As for the new means of loot accrual (sb changes + no gravelooting), I think we'll have to suspend judgement to see the effects on the economy and gameplay. (We no longer can see loot tables, so we don't know what changes were to drop rates and stuff.) Anyhow, I'm interested to see how we all adapt to the changes. Then, given reasonable feedback, what further changes come down the pipeline from the devs.

sure, you can say the range nerf buffed ranged classes, but thats not why it sucks. It sucks because it turned godlands from a fun place to farm into a boring area that you can get pot drops.

I love it, have gotten over over 5 pots in the last 30 mins (def, vit, wis, etc). The only thing I don't like is graves not being lootable (even for yourself).

Why would anyone post comments, bugs etc to this thread when most valid complaints or comments aren't responded to or even addressed as to why they weren't taken into account? Here's a few questions I'd like to see answered, Crunchy.
1) Where are the higher pot drop rates one of the devs mentioned they were working on? Do you agree with most of us who believe there is too much grind in this game now?
2) You (devs) want support classes to have a chance at gear. What about warrior and pally? You just turned them into mainly support classes at the new event boss, oryx 2 (See my posts in the 119 testing thread). And the only support knights have to offer is moral support (stunning 1 minion is not support). And we already know that most knights are evil tele-looters with no morals. They can't even offer moral support!
3) Where are the new drop tables for events and dungeons? Wasn't it mentioned that you wanted to make all items more common? What about the drop rates of the untiereds, have they changed or not?
Ignoring thought out comments and criticisms is not a good way to keep your player base. I've bought 15 character slots, all vault chests and plenty of effusions, keys and dyes. I'm pretty sure I'm your dream player, I see this game as entertainment and I shell out money for it regularly. And you're ignoring the living shit out of me, along with everyone else with the same questions. Please respond to me.

What i did tonight in 2 hours :
4 oryx, 4 cubes, 3 skulls, 3 pents, 2 snake pit, 3 udl, 30 min in godland.
What i got :
2 spds and one wis.

I like most of the upgrade
No more being bullied out of Oryx because people want an invite only wine cellar option. Forcing them to open the cellar now makes the game a real game for everyone. People tend to hoard the keys and most never seen the wine cellar but now have a chance.
Any owner of a grave should have a chance at recovering their stuff. This is awesome anyway and will stop people from tawnting others they have their stuff but some that actually collected the loot and gave it back to the owner is gone. Double edged sword in this case but I like it.
I am not alone when I mention bringing back more stat pot drops more available. Some on here get pots regularly while others very rarely.
All in all though, I love it and can't wait to see how people re-act to the changes. Of course noobs just joining the game from this point on will never know the difference and they'll just love it I'm sure.

Regarding the wc event, I have seen where as people who want to unlock the wc, they bully people out of oryx, this is a public game for everyone not just them.
Perhaps they should come up with a different key that can be opened anywhere like other keys or event keys, not just in Oryx for the clicky groupies that want just their few friends to join.

Dude, welcome to my world, that's how a get stat pots for some reason, if I get any at all. This game is now making everyone work for their sb bags.

idk what the huge deal is with private runs. Basically any noob will instantly die in a wc. And all the others who never been (including myself) will die through 1st run as well, or so it was explained to me.
The experienced player will get through it ok, only now, the GREED mode is off and they need to really play the game the real way with real people not of their choosing.
Some may simple stop doing the wc run and new people won't know any different and just play the game as intended. This is an open game where everyone is supposed to work together and at times people have gotten greedy and serious about drops and thinking only of themselves.
I think this new 2 minute time limit will help than hinder the game atm.

Thank you for new art; thank you for bug fixes; I don't see why everything needs soulbound when the classes were more plentiful and played more skillfully without them (healing classes in particular);no ty for turning the only end game dungeon into an event. That is all.

Boosting events is awesome when the servers are busy with high level players, what happens during quieter times? Not everyone will want to fight longer to the end though.
Not my area anyway, as a necromancer I don't plan on fighting certain gods like cubes and skulls anytime soon. lol.

Wine cellars:
Sure, there's more items now (I just picked up staff and robe back to back), but they're boring as fuck. With forty to sixty people in there, it's just another Oryx 1 - he gets steamrolled, and there's no skill or thinking involved.
Of course, sitting around multiboxing with 20 accounts isn't exactly fun either. So there needs to be a solution that eliminates multiboxing, but without eliminating private cellars. Because I'm pretty pissed that it's going to be about a thousand times as hard to organize our Bulwark WC run now.

First you have your level 1 char : Your goal : level 20.
What it should be ( if rotmg was a real coop game ) :
Great adventures through hard quests when you have to build a good team ( combine priest and melee class etc ), farming low monsters for hours giving few xp, soloable long quest giving more xp, more variety of dungeons etc...
What it's actually :
Asking for high level items in nexus, rush quests for 15 minutes, up level 8, go in low godland, up level 12 and follow players in godland to reach level 20. cooperation : 1/20
Second : Maxing your char.
What it should be ( if rotmg was a real coop game ) :
Large dungeons actually requiring SKILLS to progress, must have a good team. High drops at the end ( like 5 or 6 pots each ). Or for solo if your teammates are not connected, events. Not boring events, hard events.
What it's actually : farming weeks in godland with shitty drops rate, weird spawning monsters, no skill demanded. Or dungeons. Oh okay i know what's the strategy to battle septa or limon.. and then it's boring. Or events. Well you can't loot anything on events now, i tried tonight, the rate risk/reward is just... funny. Alone...
This is same for gear, maybe worse.

Unique dungeons, FUCKING HARD ONES. More ponctual events for the bests.
What it's actually : Fame. And when you see bulwark giving less fame than exa vit... well don't want to debate.
Before this update : 40% of fun when you played with some nice people + funny wc runs with friends. 15% of skill. And i'm generous. 5% cooperation. Reward : 85%
After the update : 15% of fun wwhen you played with some nice people. 15% of skill. 0% cooperation. 25% reward.
The problem is : You can master the game solo if you want to. And this a big problem.
I know it's not easy but please some people out there got great ideas ! listen to them !
