Build 76

After a slightly rocky launch (webserver fell over), build 76 is now live. Changes:

  • Minimap zoom improved
  • Fix bugs with returning from a dungeon to correct server
  • Demons will no longer wander into spawns
  • Internal server improvements

Just asking did you fix a bug I guess that if you use a Dungeon Key in a dungeon and take the portal, that portal takes you back to the main world instead to another dungeon.

Mousewheel still zooms 2x

Mousewheel still zooms 2x keyboard zoom, which itself now zooms 2x further per click than previously :S

Edit: Disregard the last part, zoom rates are the same - 7 levels of zoom with keyboard, 4 with mousewheel

omgomgomgd: A little bit of both. We want to respond to problems and bugs but we also have a thousand ideas for new content we want to get in. This push was definitely more fixes and behind-the-scenes stuff.

I personally like this feature, as it makes sense and is sort of a "screw you" to people trying to break the game.

I see TONS of potential in this game and will continue to be a repeat player.

However, spammers need to be addressed as quickly as possible.

at 12:35 A.M. CST (gmt-06:00)
Ogre (and possibly other servers) were attacked by a self described "troll being a troll." While 4chan has contributed to an influx of valid players, it seems to have attracted a /b/tard as well.

If some code could quickly be put into place to do the following, I think everyone would be very happy!
* limit the rate of repeat messages by a small, small delay
* identify characters sending repeat messages at small intervals and mute them.
* temporarily ban IPs assoiciated with spammers that have been identified by mentioned code
* add /report command to log complaints and associate them with &playername&'s IP (log reportie's IP as well to identify /report abuse.

Those are the only idea's I have at the moment. I'm sure the developer has many more! ^_^

    Semi-done, chat is now limited to two lines.
  • identify characters sending repeat messages at small intervals and mute them.
    Auto-gag, sounds good, but spammers can just change their message to play at intervals.
  • temporarily ban IPs assoiciated with spammers that have been identified by mentioned code
    IP bans are pretty useless, but I guess a temporary one might help; might be a pain to set up though.
  • add /report command to log complaints and associate them with &playername&'s IP (log reportie's IP as well to identify /report abuse.
    Reports are useless without a dedicated adminbase.
